(Hebrews 10:18) “Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer offering for sin.” Forgiveness of others is not about making someone pay us back for the wrong they have done to us. Forgiveness of ourselves is not about punishing ourselves for something we have done wrong. Forgiveness ends the cycle of retaliation and resentment and sets us free to love others and ourselves instead.
