THIS WEEKEND WITH FATHER JIM
HOLY SPIRIT COME
THE SPIRIT AND THE DESERT
Not all jocks are jerks.
We need to be wary of stereotypes.
Stereotypes of God can be especially dangerous.
To only see God as some punishing enforcer of laws is wrong.
God is for us, not against us; wanting us to succeed, not fail.
We need to spend time in the Lord’s presence to get to know Him better.
We need to allow Jesus to be transfigured before us into His true self.
May deepening our relationship with the Holy Spirit help us to see God.

FAITH FORMATION DISCUSSION
What does time with Jesus look like to you?
In what ways does being with Jesus make you vulnerable?
What will it take for you to believe that God is for you, not against you?
In what ways can you experience the Lord’s presence in your time of need?
How does your relationship with God change with your image of God?

Never give up, even when you think you are not being successful or making a difference. As long as we are doing what God is calling us to do, then we are accomplishing eventual miracles.

Online Giving
When we give God our lives, that includes our time, talent and treasure.
According to Jesus, the places and people we give our treasure to are the keepers of our heart and the objects of our affection.
“For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.” – Matthew 6:21 (NAB)
“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do, says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!” – Malachi 3:10 (NLT)
