Father Jim Radloff

Up at 4:30 am each day for prayer, Father Jim soon discovered that others were also seeking to start their day with a short inspirational quote from the Bible. So taking advantage of Social Media, he began sharing with others the fruits of his early morning prayer amongst Sacred Scriptures. Using Lectio Divina with the daily readings from the Catholic Mass, Father Jim was now presenting a reflection that could help people throughout their day. We are happy to share these thoughts with you.

Martyrdom of John the Baptist

(Mark 6:26) “King Herod was deeply distressed, but because of his oaths and the guests he did not wish to break his word to her.”

When faced with the humiliation of losing face over breaking a promise we can learn a lot from Herod’s mistake. He kept a promise that went bad and so will be humiliated for all time. So we must always do what is right even if it means breaking a promise.
