Up at 4:30 am each day for prayer, Father Jim soon discovered that others were also seeking to start their day with a short inspirational quote from the Bible. So taking advantage of Social Media, he began sharing with others the fruits of his early morning prayer amongst Sacred Scriptures. Using Lectio Divina with the daily readings from the Catholic Mass, Father Jim was now presenting a reflection that could help people throughout their day. (Mark 1:22) “The people were astonished at his teaching, for Jesus taught them as one having authority and not as the scribes.”
Having been exposed to controlling, manipulative and even abusive leaders has made me very cynical about authority. The people who have my respect and support are not just those with a title, but those whose actions are inspiring in their selfless service of others . . . those who act like Jesus.
