Up at 4:30 am each day for prayer, Father Jim soon discovered that others were also seeking to start their day with a short inspirational quote from the Bible. So taking advantage of Social Media, he began sharing with others the fruits of his early morning prayer amongst Sacred Scriptures. Using Lectio Divina with the daily readings from the Catholic Mass, Father Jim was now presenting a reflection that could help people throughout their day. (Hebrews 10:18) “Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer offering for sin.” Forgiveness of others is not about making someone pay us back for the wrong they have done to us. Forgiveness of ourselves is not about punishing ourselves for something we have done wrong. Forgiveness ends the cycle of retaliation and resentment and sets us free to love others and ourselves instead.
